Sheringham 1940’s weekend

We are disappointed that ‘The 1940s Weekend’ cannot go ahead as usual this year. But we are sure that it will be back in 2021 and with the added post-Covid good feelings, it’s going to be bigger and better than ever!
The weekend has been running for 25 years and was originally hosted by the North Norfolk Railway. Nowadays it involves the towns of both Holt & Sheringham as they join together to pay homage to the 1940s with music, fashion, military vehicles and more. The weekend attracts around 40,000 visitors, making it the biggest on the local calendar.
It is a real community event with a community feel; the locals love getting involved and dressing up, whilst the shops and businesses go to town decorating their shop fronts in the style of the era and serving up 1940s food, add to that the crackly radio playing out from speakers around the streets and you feel like you have stepped back in time.
This really is such a special event and one not to be missed! We have several properties ideally located for you to enjoy this weekend - why not book a few days ahead and spend time shopping for your outfit in the charity shops and stalls, which is all part of the experience
